History 
At Pool Academy we believe that History is not about learning a long list of facts and dates.  Content is important, but so are the skills to use it. We focus on developing those skills that are transferable and valuable throughout life, and we do this by learning about stimulating and relevant topics that help to explain the world we live in.

Year 8 students take part in a National trust  excavation of a bronze age barrow.

  • Migration
  • Innovations through time
  • Own research project
 

 

Year 10 visit Berlin & Krakow

 

Year 8 topics:

  • Slavery
  • Architecture
  • Changes In Warfare
  • The Holocaust
  • Camborne, Redruth and Pool in the 19th century 
  • The Holocaust
  • Britain in the 1960’s               

 

Year 11 visit the Imperial War Museum on their two day trip to London.
