Hundreds of children laced up their running shoes to take part in a charity walk, jog, skip event to raise funds and awareness for Asthma UK.
About 750 youngsters from Pool Academy took part in the fundraiser which was held on the school’s top field at the end of last term.
Adults from the local community were also invited to take part in the sponsored event.
Raffle tickets were sold for £1 giving people the chance to win prizes including an office chair, footballs and meals out.
The event was organised by Alistair Durant, Head of PE at Pool Academy, who said Asthma UK was an important charity to support.
He said: “About 750 students took part and they all did really well.
“The either walked, jogged or skipped for one mile to help raise money for the Asthma UK charity.
“It was an inter-house event which took place on the top field during lessons.
“We are hoping to do something like this again as it brings the local community together for a good cause.
“We want to continue to support Asthma UK as it is such a valuable charity.”
