Donations keep pouring in weeks after Pool Academy’s Head Geek battled soaring temperatures to complete the London Marathon.
Phil Jones, ITC Network Manager, took up the challenge to raise money and awareness for Crohn’s and Colitis UK. He was diagnosed with the disease 18 years ago and wanted to prove to Pool Academy students that nothing can hold you back from your dreams.
His goal was to collect £2,500 for the charity but he has now been overwhelmed with generous donations reaching the total of £2,917.20.
Plenty of positive comments have also put on his Virgin Moneygiving site.
Chris Taylor wrote: “Well done Phil. I don’t know you but your story on Instagram is so inspirational...together we can hopefully find a cure for these debilitating diseases. Chris Taylor
Rachael Timmis added: “Massive respect Phil. Well done!!!!”
Jodie Phillips wrote: “A real inspiration!! I've even bought some new running shoes because of you!! What an achievement!!! Jodie

There is currently no cure for Crohn’s. About 300,000 people in the UK have conditions and more than half are diagnosed when young.
