A group of students from Pool Academy have been awarded certificates after taking part in a Chemistry festival.
Four members of Year 7 attended the Salter’s Chemistry Festival at Truro and Penwith College last week.
The children were asked to take part in two practical challenges at Truro College’s fully-equipped laboratories. The challenges were designed to test their skills and chemistry knowledge to solve them correctly.
Once the challenges were completed they were invited to watch a chemistry show. The show explored different kinds of rocket fuels and explosions.
The students who took part in the festival activities will be presented with certificates.
Jack Jones, Science teacher at Pool Academy, said: “The students really enjoyed the day.”
The festival was run in partnership with The Royal Society of Chemistry.
