Students were given a snapshot of college life when they took part in lectures at a taster day this week.
Year 10s travelled to Truro to take part in a number of different sessions including hairdressing, engineering, dance and music.
They spent the whole day learning what life could be like if they choose to study in Truro. They also had questions about apprenticeships answered too.
Nicki Grenfell, Pool Academy’s Careers Advisor, said: “The students had an amazing time at Truro College.
“They took part in engineering, hairdressing, science, music, dance and catering where they made cookies.
“They said they enjoyed their sessions and for some it has helped them think about choices they would consider next year.
“Pool Academy students’ behaviour was fantastic and the staff at Truro were helpful in making sure everyone knew where they needed to go.”
There will be another college taster day later this term at Cornwall College on July 5.
The students will leave after morning registration and walk to the college or take a minibus to one of its other sites. They will need to bring a packed lunch with them.
Mrs Grenfell said: “Students will not be required to wear school uniform but we would advise smart-casual clothing.
“They will need to wear suitable clothing for the activities chosen, so PE kit for sports activities and closed shoes for construction.”
