A visiting band got everyone up on their feet and dancing when they brought their show to RE lessons recently.
Music group L.E.D., short for Let Everyone Decide, performed some of their upbeat songs and spoke to students about faith and making choices.
They visited the school on Friday as part of Year 7 and 8’s RE lessons.
Nikki Uglow and husband Chris, members of L.E.D, take their band to schools across the South West and were last at Pool Academy in about 2015. They told students they were really excited to be back and performing at the school.
During the session the band invited some of the students up to the front to take part in games and role play. They also handed out sweets and CDs to those who wanted them.
At the end of the session the singers asked students to turn and tell each other how awesome and incredible they were.
Nikki said: “We like to reach young people with a message of making positive choices. We also do other youth projects and hold a girls’ conference. We try and help young people make positive choices in life.
“We have been doing this for about eight or nine years now.”
The pair describe their band’s music style as a blend of hip hop, electro-pop, party music.
