Pupils from a nearby primary school were inspired to get creative during a recent art workshop.
A group of children from Treloweth Primary School visited Pool School art gallery on Monday afternoon.
Pool Academy Art teacher Natalie Ellis ran a special workshop about the artist Barbara Hepworth. Mrs Ellis introduced the pupils to some of the sculptures, including The Family of Man, and told them the artist worked with wood, stone and bronze.
Scissors, glue and paper were laid out ready for the pupils to create their own artwork in the same style as the well-known artist. They spread out on the floor of the gallery to make their creations based on themselves or a member of their family.
Mrs Ellis said: “They really enjoyed it and the time went really quickly. We will take some photographs and then send their art work back to them at the end of the week.”
A spokesperson for Treloweth Primary School said: “The children really enjoyed it. It was a nice space for them in the art gallery.”
The workshop ran from 1.30pm until 2.30pm and all the children had a good time.
