Pool Academy students sang their hearts out to help raise awareness for the UN International Day of Peace.
Members of Year 7 sang an ACM Gospel Choir version of the classic ‘Lean on Me’ by Bill Withers at around midday on Friday, September 21.
Emily Cromey, Music teacher at Pool Academy, helped the school children to rehearse the song for the day.
She said: “I was absolutely blown away by Year 7 students who sang for world peace.
“We chose Lean On Me because it is a song all about helping one another and being supportive.
“The children sang with enthusiasm and gusto. The purpose of the day was to gather together and enjoy singing a song that promotes peace.”
Pool Academy were placed on an internet-based map alongside many other schools, colleges and communities that signed up to sing for peace with One Day One Choir.
The academy took part in the event on Friday. Other World Peace Day events also took place in Truro and throughout Cornwall over the weekend.
Photographs and news of the different events were shared on social media under @onedayonechoir and #onedayonechoir
