A Pool Academy student has become the youngest person to play for the Duchy Hockey Ladies 1st team.
Grace Pellow-Firth, Year 10, will be taking part in matches with the team across the county and further afield too.
Her first league game with the team took place last Saturday and she will be playing a match in Plymouth this weekend.
Grace said: “The youngest player on the team was 15 and I joined when I was 13 so I am the youngest.
“It is quite fun playing with other older people. It is a faster game so I have to keep up with that. It is strange playing with older people but it is an honour to be able to.”
The hockey club trains at Pool Academy on Wednesdays.
Grace is also a keen rugby player and in the last academic year she helped her team to win the Under 15s tournament in Barnstable. She trains for Rugby on a Monday.
She said: “I like hockey and rugby but I have played hockey for longer.”
Emily Cromey, Head of Faculty for Art, Music, Drama and PE, said: “I am really proud of her for getting onto the team. Her focus and motivation is really paying off.
“Well done Grace.”
