Pool Academy students have been praised for looking smart in their school uniforms at the start of a new term.
The comments come after teachers introduced a new addition to the attire – black shorts sporting the Academy’s logo. The shorts have been added to the uniform list this term after requests from parents during the heatwave before the summer break.
Students now have ties and blazers, formal cut black trousers, skirts, shorts, black socks and black shoes.
Clive Bramley, Chair of Governors at Pool Academy, said: “It is wonderful to see the students returning to school looking smart in their uniforms. I am pleased to hear the Academy has worked closely with parents to introduce the new black shorts with the logo on for the warmer weather.
“The uniforms have been designed to be both affordable and smart and assist the students in representing Pool Academy well when they are out in the community.”
Claire Meakin, Principal, said: “We are very proud of all our students and it is always a pleasure to receive positive comments about how smart they look. We are grateful to the community’s involvement in all aspects of the Academy – especially when they help us to make positive additions such as the new black shorts.
“The shorts can be worn all year round. I wonder if some students will be brave enough to continue wearing them into the winter – even if it snows?"
