Miss Meakin has worked at the Academy for nearly 9 years, originally as Head of Maths and most recently as Vice Principal. She has structured the leadership team of the academy to focus on 2 key areas - students’ achievements and students’ engagement. She has a vision of striving for excellence for every individual student, including the impact the students make in their community. She is very much looking forward to working with parents and the wider community to celebrate students’ achievements and helping them to ‘dream big’ and be successful!

Mrs Neesham has worked at the Academy for nearly two years. Previous role was Assistant Principal, leading Behaviour and Safety for the Academy after a relocation to Cornwall from Kent. Her AHT role in Kent was to lead three mini schools. Other roles have included Head of House, Raising Achievement Leader, Head of PBL and Assistant Curriculum Leader of English. Mrs Neesham has specialist teacher accreditation in Access Arrangements and now has responsibility of leading the Delivery team to ensure the best outcomes are secured for all children.
Mrs Katrina Boyall, Vice Principal - Students’ Engagement, firstname.lastname@example.org
Mrs Boyall started with the Academy in September, moving from an all-through academy over the summer. This means she has experience of teaching and leading schools across primary and secondary. Her focus this year is ensuring students are ready to learn and are engaged in their learning.

Mrs Ludlow started at Pool Academy eleven years ago as Head of English. She is very excited to be in her new role as Teaching and Learning lead this year. Working with the rest of the delivery team, she wants to ensure that all students at the Academy have the very best experience in every lesson and they are supported by every teacher to achieve success.
Mr Peter Ryder, Assistant Principal - Outcomes, firstname.lastname@example.org
Mr Ryder has worked at the Academy for 8 years, originally in the English department as as the lead for our vocational provision. He now oversees the academic outcomes for students in years 7 to 11 . In years 7-8 his role centres on ensuring that every child’s progress in catered for which included the preparation of the options process for the start of year 9. His focus in years 9 to 11 is on students progress in areas other than English, Maths and Science. He is also responsible for maintaining a fresh and challenging curriculum model to suit progression to the wide variety of pathways open to students when they enter Further Education.

Mr. Webb started at Pool as Head of PE 21 years ago and has been an Assistant Principal for the last 8 years. Mr Webb works with primary students to ensure they have a smooth transition into the Academy. He also works with Mrs Grenfell to lead our Dream Big Careers Programme to ensure all students are fully prepared for the workplace. Mr Webb is responsible for attendance and works with our attendance team to support students and families.

Mr Walker has worked at the academy for two years. He has worked at a number of schools as Head of Maths and Lead Practitioner for Maths. His role this year centres on safeguarding, RE and PSHE. He works closely with the pastoral team to ensure students’ social, moral, spiritual and cultural education is to the very highest standard. He also leads the Academy’s drive on empowering students to work together on peer support programmes.

Mr McKenzie has worked at the academy for two years as Head of Science and Professional Tutor. He previously worked at two other Cornish Schools as Head of Science, Head of Year and Outdoor education coordinator and well as teaching in Lima, Peru for a year. His focus is to work closely with Head of English, Head of Maths and Head of Science to drive up standards across the core subjects to ensure the very best outcomes for our students in English, Maths and Science.
