Buzz Blog – my travels to Spain.
I have just come back from an exciting five days abroad enjoying all things football.
I was so excited when Mr Fuller invited me to go to Valencia with him and the students. I packed my small suitcase, with my sports kit and sun cream, and bought a ‘Spanish for Beginners’ book especially.
We travelled by plane to Alicante before hopping onto a bus to Valencia. On arriving we had just enough time to unpack before going to a large football stadium for the Champions League fixture v Ajax. The atmosphere was electric with excitement and we all got into the spirit of cheering Valencia on.
On our second day the students were taken to the Valencia training ground where they trained on the pitch next to the Ajax team. I think they did very well. We all had time for a swim before watching another fixture against a local team.
We were given a tour of the stadium on day three before visiting a nearby beach for a bit of a relax. The fun began again that evening with a tasty meal and some bowling games at Heron City.
The next day the students took part in another training session next to the Valencia reserve team before they went on a spot of sightseeing.
On our last day we went for a swim to cool off from the 30 degrees’ heat and then watched a Valencia Under 19s game.
What a football-packed adventure! We all had so much fun and I loved watching Pool Academy students being trained and offered good football tips as well as seeing them play a match against a team they had never met before.
Everyone was really proud of them and we will all remember the trip for a long time to come.
