Library gets new display thanks to two students

Pool Academy’s library has a fresh new display thanks to the help of two creative students.

Lily and Kerry, Year 10, helped Mrs Hampton with the new display recently.

It was created by cutting out dozens of multi-coloured butterflies. On each butterfly people had written down the title and author of their favourite book. Authors mentioned included Roald Dahl, J K Rowling and Liz Pichon.

Mrs Hampton said she would love other students to come in and add their favourites to the board too.

She said: “If people are looking for a book to read they can come into the library and look at the display board.”

She has even included her own childhood favourite read too – Heidi by Johanna Spyri.

She said: “I want to say a big thank you to Lily and Kerry who helped me create the board. If it wasn’t for their help I’m not sure I would have made it in time.

“I will keep it on the wall for as long as possible and if people want to they can add to it.”

Students are invited to the library to have a look.
