Pool Academy students are invited to get creative in St Ives

Aspiring artists are being invited to get creative in St Ives and gain an extra qualification.

Staff at The School of Painting are inviting students from Pool Academy to become a Porthmeor Young Artist and gain a Silver Arts Award - which is a qualification at Level 2, GCSE A* - C.

Workshops will take place once a fortnight on Sundays from 1pm - 4pm until July.

Cat Lee, Young Artists Coordinator at St Ives School of Painting, said: “Students will get the chance to work alongside professional artists to develop their art skills and see inspiring arts events.

“The workshops will give people a space to be creative outside of school and home as well as add a creative spark to their weekends. They will also provide some arts industry experience.

“Those taking part will be offered the use of all the art materials they could wish for and get fantastic guidance in a real working art studio setting.”

Sessions are being held for students aged between 13 and 18 years of age.

Sessions cost £5.
