Pool Academy students asked to help spruce up town for Christmas

Students from Pool Academy have been invited to get creative to help spruce up Redruth over the festive season.

A workshop will be held at the school on November 24 to make displays for the windows in town shops.

It’s hoped this community project will help brighten up the darker nights as Christmas draws ever closer.

The theme for this year’s artwork is Candles.

A procession will take place through the streets of Redruth in November and it’s hoped the work will be up and displayed by then.

During the workshop an artist will help the class to make themed artwork using recycled materials, lights and shiny decorative materials.

A spokesperson for the festive event and workshops said: “This project is all about us giving students the necessary support to realise their ideas and we hope our workshops will give a good starting point.”

Mrs Ellis, Art teacher at Pool Academy, said: “This is a great opportunity for students to have their work shown in the community.

“We are delighted to be part of this art project."
