Traditional hymns and mince pies helped create a festive atmosphere at this year’s Carol Concert.
Scores of people arrived to take part in Pool Academy’s seasonal evening at Trevenson Church on Tuesday (December 5).
The school choir treated the congregation with a selection of traditional and modern Christmas songs such as Once In Royal David’s City, O Come All Ye Faithful and All I Want For Christmas is You.
This was the first year Claire Meakin took part in the service as Pool Academy’s Principal.
Teachers Jack Jones and Sean Walker organised the Carol concert which they hailed a success.
Mr Jones said: “The concert went very well and the students performed brilliantly.”
Claire Meakin, Pool Academy Principal, said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make the carol concert such a success.
“The students, as always, were a credit to Pool Academy and it really was a brilliant way to start Christmas.
“A particular thank you to Jack Jones, Sean Walker and Peter Ham who did an incredible job.”
Clive Bramley, Chair of the Governors, said: “Thank you to all involved in the Carol concert and congratulation on producing a wonderful event.
“I really enjoyed the night.”
It is thought that the carol concert has been a feature in the academic year since the Academy first opened.
