Staff and students are being encouraged to wear pink to help raise much-needed cash for charity.
This Friday (OCT19) the school will be supporting the two charities Breast Cancer Now and the Movember Foundation by wearing pink and eating cake.
Students are invited to wear pink tops, socks, tights or shoes only for a donation to the charities. There will also be a bake sale at break time.
Sophie Stephens, Head of Year 9, is organising the event with an enthusiastic group of year 9 fundraisers.
She said: “I decided to support the two charities this year because it's very important to raise much-needed money for the two research groups. I know they have supported both my friends and family and many more people within our school community. Raising awareness of cancer and educating students about how they can identify signs and symptoms is of upmost importance.
“I really hope both staff and students can get involved and support the day so we can raise as much money as possible.
“What's not to enjoy about wearing pink and eating cake?”
Cake donations for the stall are welcome and people are invited to bring them to Miss Stephens during tutor time on Friday.
Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s largest breast cancer research charity and The Movember Foundation is the leading global organisation committed to changing the face of men's health.
