Two Pool Academy students visited their former school to view its new building.
Madison and Chloe, from Year 7, visited Rosemellin School with their Principal Claire Meakin this week for the grand opening of the school’s new extension.
It has taken a year to build and includes a hall and intervention rooms. Children started to use it last month but the official opening was held this week.
Representatives from Cornwall Council, builders Kier, former head teachers of the school and members of the Crofty Multi Agency group all attended.
Chloe said: “The pupils showed us around the school and then we saw two people help with the opening by cutting a ribbon. We then went to have cake and a drink.
“It was strange to go back to my old school but it was a good afternoon.”
Madison said: “We went to the new building and had a look. There were two new classrooms and a new sports hall and some rooms for teachers and pupils to have one to one sessions. It looked good.”
Miss Meakin said: “Mr Hamblin, Chloe, Madison and I were excited to be invited to attend the grand opening of Rosemellin School's extension.
“Rosemellin staff and students were already very lucky to have such a lovely school but the extension makes it even more beautiful. The school council members who showed us around were a real credit to their school and we are already looking forward to our next visit.”
The new build was funded by Cornwall Council.
