Head Boy helps his team to become Air Cadet champions
Pool Academy’s Head Boy has helped his team become Air Cadet champions after a successful weekend of football.
Matthew Daddow, Year 11, travelled to RAF Cranwell to take part in a regional football match which included six teams from across the country.
He was part of the RAF Air Cadet South West team with members aged between 13 years and 16 years old. They competed against Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland teams during the tournament.
His team beat them all and they won the top spot.
Matthew said: “We went up to play against the other regions and we won over all.
“The other teams were good but we had some strong players.
“I got a medal. It was a good day. I would like to do it again next year if I get through in the team.
“Next year I will be old enough for the senior team.”
He said the team travelled up on the Friday ahead of the Saturday game and that the journey took them 10 hours.
“It was worth it though,” he added.
Emily Cromey, Head of Faculty for Art, Music, Drama and PE, said: “Well done Matthew. It is always wonderful to hear of students’ successes. I wish him all the best for next year too.”
