Officials praise success of Development centre

Officials are praising the success of Pool Academy’s new Plymouth Argyle Development centre.

The new Boys Long Term Player Development Centre, which was only set up in September, has already seen successful results of the player pathway.

Boys from the new centre were offered the chance to play at Plymouth Argyle’s centre of excellence in a friendly fixture against the Under 13s recently. The boys played well and won the game 4-2.

From January a selection of boys has been offered a trial with the Centre of Excellence after their impressive performance in the fixture.

Mark Fuller, who heads the centre and works at Pool Academy, said: “The boys have been working superbly well in training over the last 12 weeks. The result from this fixture goes to show that the development centre is making a difference and providing opportunities for players to make that next step in football."
