Congratulations to former student’s success

A former student from Pool Academy has recently graduated after studying at University.

Betsy Willey, recently graduated from the University of Gloucestershire with an MSc Professional Practice in Sports Coaching.

The ceremony was held at Cheltenham Racecourse on 21 November.

Her mother Maggie said Betsy was inspired by her Pool Academy History teacher Mr Turner to attend university to study History. She went to Cheltenham University and achieved a BSc in the subject.

Her mother said: “After leaving university she has been employed at Cheltenham College where she is now Assistant House Mistress in a girls boarding house and is Head of Netball.

“Betsy will continue to develop her coaching and passing on her knowledge and enthusiasm to the College girls.”

Claire Meakin said: “Congratulations to Betsy for her academic achievements. It is so wonderful to hear of her success and that Mr Turner helped to inspire her in to higher education.

“We wish her all the success in the future.”
