Good turnout for Plymouth Argyle coaches

Scores of youngsters arrived at Pool Academy to be coached by experts at Plymouth Argyle.

The well-known football club took its roadshow to the school last term to give children a day of football during half term.

The event was held for children aged five to 15 years and 70 people turned up on the day.

Professional Football Association coaches lead a number of activities from 10am until 3pm. This was the first time the football club had visited the school and Pool Academy teacher, Mark Fuller, hopes it is the start of further links between the school and the football club.

A spokesperson from the club said: “We had a brilliant roadshow at Pool Academy during Half Term. “There were 70 children who all had a great time.

“The facilities were fantastic and it all went really smoothly.”

Mr Fuller said the roadshow saw budding footballers taught skills, techniques and take part in competitions and small sided games.

He said: “This was the first time we managed to secure Plymouth Argyle to come to Pool Academy but we are looking at doing something a lot bigger with them in the future.”
