Athletes compete in Exeter
Pool Academy students past and present were congratulated for their efforts at recent athletics championships.
The South-West Schools Championships took place earlier this month at Exeter Arena which led to Pool Academy children getting some successes.
Charlie Sharp, Year 10, ran a personal best in the Inter Boys 100m and Connor Drew, Year 11, was fourth in the Senior Boys Javelin.
Tammy took part in the Senior Girls Pole Vault.
Dave Buzza, teacher at Pool Academy, said: “Congratulations were in order last week, as one present and two past Pool students competed for Cornwall Schools at the South-west Schools Championships.
“All three were a year young in their age groups but Tammy took a superb victory in the Senior Girls Pole Vault. Connor Drew was fourth in the Senior Boys Javelin. Year 10 student Charlie Sharp has had a fine season so far and ran a new personal best of 11.81 seconds in the Inter Boys 100m and narrowly missed his PB of 23.4 seconds in the IB 200m.”
