Awards evening celebrates success

Students from across the school were invited to an Awards evening to celebrate their successes over the last academic year.

Scores of trophies were handed out to people who had impressed teachers with their achievements in studies and sport.

During the night there were speeches from school Principal Claire Meakin and motivational speaker Beresford Lee.

Singers and musicians from Pool Academy also entertained the audience with a variety of songs.

Miss Meakin said to students and their families on the night: “We are incredibly proud of every single person involved with Pool Academy. Every student brings their own unique brand of personality. The Awards night is a really special event. It is an opportunity to celebrate those students who have gone above and beyond, students who have excelled in certain areas.

“We are incredibly proud of them and I am very grateful to everyone who has come to help us celebrate them.”

During his speech Mr Lee said: “This is your chance and opportunity to learn and be great.”

He told the students they needed to be organised, have a plan and have a tidy desktop. He said students needed to practise at being great and to find someone to inspire them.
