Students learn life-saving skills

A group of students were given life-saving first aid training at Pool Academy recently.

The three-day course was put on for those involved with the Olympian Mentoring programme being run at the school.

Essential skills such as CPR were taught to the children. At the end of the course a certificate was handed out to each student.

Nicki Grenfell, from Pool Academy, said: “Twelve students took part in the first aid course. They were all given certificates for taking part.

“They found it very useful. They were very hands on and enjoyed it. I would be quite happy for them to administer first aid on me.”
