She began her teaching career in 2011 after studying for a degree in Chemistry at Cardiff University.

She then moved back to her hometown in West Cornwall and taught Science and Mathematics at Cape Cornwall School for five years.

Last year she travelled the world visiting a number of countries including North America, South America, New Zealand and South East Asia. This gave her the opportunity to trek around Machu Picchu and visit a Penguin island off the most southern town in the world.

She said: “I am looking forward to continuing my teaching career at Pool Academy and look forward to meeting all of the students and colleagues at the beginning of the new school year.”

Miss Meakin, Principal at Pool Academy, said: “Hannah is a brilliant addition to the maths team.  Her passion for teaching is evident from the first time you meet her and I know the students will benefit from her very positive approach.  I’m sure her tutor group will also be hearing a few stories about her travelling.  I can definitely feel a project between Maths, Science and Geography developing - I look forward to seeing what they create together.”
