Science teacher passes leadership qualifications
A science teacher from Pool Academy is celebrating after passing leadership qualifications designed by the government.
Dave Buckingham has recently qualified with a National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML).
This means he will be better equipped to lead the Science department and contribute more to the whole school.
The qualification was open to teachers who are or aspire to be a middle leader in education. It allows them to develop leadership skills in areas including teaching and curriculum excellence, leading with impact and working in partnership.
It also the opportunity for people to increase focus on resilience, awareness and integrity.
Mr Buckingham said: “Gaining the qualification was incredibly challenging, especially in the summer when I became Head of Science and a dad. I found it hard to complete the course but I think it has really developed me as a leader and I look forward to putting everything I have learnt into practice.”
