Pool Academy hosted an Under 15 hockey tournament recently with six schools from the area taking part.

Students from Redruth, Truro, Penryn, Mounts Bay, Helston and Penair Schools arrived at the academy ready for a 12pm kick off.

A team of 14 girls from Pool Academy were up against Redruth School in their first game where they finished in a draw.

The tournament saw the different teams taking part in about five or six games.

She said: “We were all very positive at the start of the tournament.

“Our first match was against Redruth. We were excited to play against them.

“I would like to say thank you to the Year 9 and Year 8 players for joining our team.

“It was a great day to get to practise our hockey skills.”

Emily Cromey, Head of Faculty for PE, Music, Drama and Art, said: “It was great to see our girls battling it out with other schools. They were competing in a lively and competitive day where everyone joining in worked hard.”
