Year 6 pupil excited to start at Pool Academy
A Year 6 student is excited to join Pool Academy after taking a tour and learning about the school recently.
Mario, from Roskear Primary School, and his mother were given a guided tour of the school to look in classrooms and see what was on offer for his future studies.
Alastair Durant, who will be head of Year 7 next year, showed him around and Mario was impressed to see so many students staying after school to do extra studies.
Mario also met Miss Meakin to tell her how he couldn’t wait to start school in September and meet his classmates.
Mr Durant said: “It was an absolute delight to meet Mario this afternoon. He is full of energy and excitement about joining us at Pool Academy.
“He said he can’t wait to have more challenging work when he joins us.”
Mr Durant said Mario was shown some of the experiments he will be doing in Science and was given a talk about History.
He added: “Mario can’t wait to start cooking in the design and technology lessons and also join his teammates from Illogan FC in our after school sports club. He also wants to go on some of our trips which could include a trip to Valencia to play football in the next few years.
“It was a pleasure to see his excitement about joining us and I can’t wait to see him over the coming weeks.”
Claire Meakin, Pool Academy Principal, said: “All Year 6 students and parents are invited to book individual meetings and tours and we hope to see many more Year 6s in the next few months.
“Please remember that if you have any questions I can always be contacted by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org .”
