A footballer from Pool Academy has reached the top of the league with his under 12s team.
Ryan Kempthorne has been playing for the team in Illogan for the past four years. He is often seen in the Centre Attack or Midfield position.
He said: “We played against five other teams in the area and just won the league.
“I thought we had a chance to win.
“In a few months we will be playing in some semi-finals.
“Football is something I like and I would like to carry it on when I am older.
“At school I enjoy Maths and PE. I think Maths is a lot of fun.”
The former Illogan Primary School pupil says he likes to practise three times a week.
