Premier League football trophy visits Pool Academy

People at Pool Academy were given a chance of a life time to see the Premier League trophy when it came to Cornwall recently.

Scores of primary school pupils from across the region descended on the secondary school to take part in a celebratory seven-a-side, mixed teams football tournament.

The trophy arrived at about 12pm on March 26th at Pool Academy. During the afternoon children were given a chance to see the prestigious trophy which was taken care of by two Premier League staff members.

Rosemellin School’s football team were the overall winners of the day and they were handed medals and a cup.

Mark Fuller, from Pool Academy, said: “The Premier League trophy coming to Pool Academy is a dream come true as a football fan. A massive thanks go to Plymouth Argyle for choosing us to host a primary football tournament to celebrate the trophy coming to Cornwall.

“The day was a huge success with everyone involved having an amazing day." 
Harry Badcock, from Plymouth Argyle Community Trust, said: “I would like to thank Pool Academy for letting us host a primary school tournament in celebration of the Premier League Trophy. The day was superbly well organised and everything ran like clockwork.

“Every child left at the end of the day with a smile on their face and a selfie with the trophy."
