Pool Academy will be welcoming a new drama teacher to the school in the new academic year.

Kerensa Crawshaw says she is looking forward to working at the academy.  She has always wanted to work with young people and both of her parents are primary school teachers. It wasn’t until she attended Aberystwyth University to study Drama she realised she wanted to teach drama.

Her first teaching job was at Lipson School where she stayed for two years inspiring students. She then went to Sheffield for five years and then Liskeard School for 13 years before choosing to work at Pool Academy.

Her proudest achievements include seeing her former pupils going on to become actors and drama teachers. This year she saw one of her students get into the National Youth Theatre.

Kerensa, who went to school in Liskeard, said: “I'm looking forward to working with everyone at Pool Academy and some new creative challenges.”
