Dear Parent / Carer
Re: Ugandan Children’s Choir – Performance at Pool Academy
On 15th November from 6.30pm we are delighted to be hosting a performance of the Pearl of Africa Children’s Choir; a renowned Ugandan choir made up mainly of orphan children from Uganda.
The choir will be spending the day in the Academy working with selected students in 3 workshops where they will be learning African songs and dances and also learning African rhythms on drums as well as making African crafts.
In the evening, the choir will be putting on a special concert for families of Pool Academy and the local community. They are a truly inspiring choir – everything you would expect from traditional African rhythms, song and dance.
The choir has toured the UK for the past few years, performing mainly in schools, colleges, churches and headline sports events.
The concert is free for all who attend, with a voluntary donation. There will be a sale of African crafts during the interval and at the end of the concert. Through this, the choir hope to raise funds for their orphan community.
We hope to see you at the concert – it promises to be one of the performance highlights of the Academies calendar this year.
