Chartwells and School Meals

27th February 2019

Dear Parents and Carers

I wanted to give you a quick update with regards to Chartwells.

I am grateful for the parents who spoke with me directly today about their child’s experience of the lunchtime provision provided by Chartwells.  I will continue to work on behalf of the students to ensure they receive the very highest standard and availability of food.

I have spoke to Chartwells on a number of occasions today and they are keen to engage fully with students and parents.  They are proposing the following activities:

  • Chartwells staff will meet with the student leadership team next Tuesday.  This will give the students the opportunity to have their opinions and experiences heard, along with giving them the chance to get to know the Chartwells team better.

  • In preparation for the student leadership team meeting next week, we will be asking tutor group representatives and tutors to gather the thoughts of the students so that they can accurately relay them to Chartwells on Tuesday.

  • Following the student leadership team meeting, Chartwells would like to host a family engagement event on Tuesday 12th March, 5pm - 7pm.  During this session, families will be invited to try foods specifically on the Pool Academy menu, along with meeting the Chartwells team.

We will continue to listen to the voice of our students and that of their parents and carers.  As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

I hope to see many of you on 12th March,

Kind regards,

Phil Jones
