Dear Parent / Carer,
As part of our commitment to the access of new technology for all, we are updating our student iPads in September. It has been three years since our last upgrade and significant improvements have been made in these devices, the apps we install & the software used to manage them. We will also be using this refresh to fit new cases and screen protectors to make sure they are even better protected.
As part of this, we will need to collect your child’s existing iPad.
This will happen Wed 10th & Thur 11th July. The iPads will be collected during tutor time.
If there are any issues around this or if the iPad has become lost or broken, please contact the IT department as soon as possible.
There is no need to reset the device as our IT team will be wiping each one. Your child will be advised of the steps they need to carry out to ensure their work is moved to the new iPads. This simply means saving documents to google drive, google classroom, showbie or emailing them to themselves.
We will issue a new iPad to your child in September.
The new devices will be the larger 9.7” iPad, not the iPad Mini we have used up until now.
The policy and rules with the iPads will remain the same, including the restriction on installing apps and filtered internet that turns off at 9pm.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. You can find more information about our iPad scheme on the school website. May I take this opportunity to thank you for your support in the continued success of this project.
