Miss Meakin has worked at the Academy for nearly 10 years, originally as Head of Maths.She became Principal on 1st September 2017. She has a vision of striving for excellence for every individual student, including the impact the students make in their community. She is really enjoying working with parents and the wider community to celebrate students’ achievements and helping them to ‘dream big’ and be successful!
Mrs Lisette Neesham, Vice Principal, email@example.com
Mrs Neesham has worked at the Academy for 3 years. Her previous role was as an Assistant Principal, leading Behaviour and Safety for the Academy after a relocation to Cornwall from Kent. Her Assistant Headteacher role in Kent was to lead three mini schools. Other roles have included Head of House, Raising Achievement Leader, Head of PBL and Assistant Curriculum Leader of English. Mrs Neesham has specialist teacher accreditation in Access Arrangements.
Mr Nick Ward, Vice Principal, firstname.lastname@example.org
Mr Ward comes with a wealth of experience after starting his career as a teacher of science at Launceston College in 1995. He has since worked at Treviglas Community College in 2004 and two academies in Plymouth. Mr Ward said he aims to prepare all students in ‘becoming responsible and active British citizens, who take pride in being part of their local community’.

Mr McKenzie has worked at the academy for 3 years initially as Head of Science and Professional Tutor. He previously worked at two other Cornish Schools as Head of Science, Head of Year and Outdoor Education Coordinator and well as teaching in Lima, Peru for a year. His focus is to drive up standards across the curriculum to ensure the very best outcomes for our students.
Mrs Rachel Facey, SENDCo, firstname.lastname@example.org
Mrs Facey joined the academy in January 2018. Her job covers all aspects of Student Support Services to ensure that support is available for all students. She works with the SEN Manager and the Learning Facilitators to ensure the interventions that the team provide are varied and meet the needs of all the students. Mrs Facey also works closely with outside agencies to ensure support and guidance is provided for the academy.
